Obituary for Amanda Kay Lovern (Pendergraft)

Amanda Kay Lovern, 44, passed away September 21, 2019. Amanda was born in Chesapeake, Virginia to Walter J. Pendergraft Sr. and Diane Lassiter Pendergraft. She graduated from Oscar Smith High School and drove a school bus in her community for over 12 years in between pursuing her passion of culinary arts and creating delicious meals for the community. She worked for both Lee's Diner and DeWald's Diner where she enjoyed every moment serving her loyal customers. She was a member of the Eagles Club #957, and the Portsmouth Moose Lodge.
Left to cherish her memory besides her parents, is her husband of 23 years, Jerry C. Lovern, Jr.; son, William Cody Pendergraft; daughter, Dallas Lovern (DJ Senters); two brothers, Walter Jackson "Bo" Pendergraft Jr., (Crystal Pendergraft), Kenny Pendergraft (Kelani Pendergraft); sister, Monica Nelsen; and multiple nieces, nephews who she loved dearly. Along with extended family members and dear friends. Also, her beloved grandson, Jameson, who was the light of her life!
The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd. Chesapeake on September 27th, from 6 to 7:30pm . A service to celebrate her life will be held September 28th, at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Ronnie Gurganus officiating. Burial will be Monday September 30th at Job Cemetery, Aulander, NC.
