Obituary for Alfred Ray Langhorne

Alfred “Al” Ray Langhorne, of Chesapeake, VA, passed away May 21, 2022. A native of Virginia Beach, Al was the son of the late Robert and Judith Langhorne.

Al is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Margaret; Son, Andrew (Ashley); Daughters, Michelle (Trey) and Catherine (Tony); Sister, Judi; Brother, Jack; and Grandchildren, Emily, Hope, Jonathan, and Roman. In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his brother Bobby, and grandson, Tyler.

Al worked at Charles Barker Mercedes for 10 years after retiring from Gerber Baby Products. If you had the pleasure to know Al, you would be graced with his wit and sharp sense of humor, wonderful story telling, strong work ethic, and the gift of gab. He was always available to help his kids with general advice, little lessons, great conversation, and funny stories. As grandchildren came along, Al especially loved hearing and laughing about the latest crazy antics they said and did. Al also enjoyed spending time with his wife, running errands together, working on little house projects, and relaxing and watching their favorite TV shows. While watching those shows, Al would probably be munching on his favorite snack of potato chips. We are all going to miss his smile, laughter, mid-day calls, crazy humor, and funny work stories.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home 1112 Kempsville Road Chesapeake, Virginia 23320 on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 6-8 p.m.
