Obituary for Alberta Maxine Lambert

Alberta Maxine Haas Lambert left to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 16, 2021. She was born in Belle Center, Ohio on December 1, 1916 to the late Emmett Haas and Okey Amspoker Haas Briggs. Besides her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her siblings, Olive, Leora, Rada, Virginia, and Martha.

A graduate from Belle Center High School with the class of 1935, Alberta was their class president and enjoyed attending many of their class reunions. She worked at the Bellefontaine Detroit Aluminum and Brass for 10 years, and during World War II she worked in the shipping office at Patterson Field, Dayton, Ohio. She taught piano in the Huntsville area for 57 years. In total, she estimates there were 650 piano pupils, many who furthered their music careers because of Alberta.

Alberta was married in 1940 to the late C. Clifton Lambert, and celebrated 53 years of marriage. She and Cliff were long-time faithful members of the Presbyterian Churches at Belle Center and Huntsville. While attending there, she loved playing the piano and organ for church services and taught children's Sunday school classes and children's choir. Alberta was also a member of the Bellefontaine First Church of God for over 30 years, where she also enjoyed playing the piano for church services and participating as a member of the choir and numerous church activities. She was a proud volunteer with Mary Rutan Hospital Guild for 25 years.

She is survived by her children, Barbara (John) Bilyk of Chesapeake, Virginia, Dee (Glenn) Jackson of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Eldon Lambert, of US Virgin Islands; grandchildren, Tonya (Mark) Capps of Chesapeake, Virginia, Bradley (Kathryn) Jackson of Plymouth, Michigan, Douglas (Karine) Bilyk of New York City, New York, Catherine (Keith) Moran of Glen Allen, Virginia, Loren Jackson of Chesapeake, Virginia, Renae (Hugh) Duncan of Saint Joseph, Michigan, and Eldon Clifton "Cliff" Lambert II of US Virgin Islands; great-grandchildren, Meghan Capps of Mobile, Alabama, Casey Arcoria of Blacksburg, Virginia, Lucas, Margaux, and Elise Bilyk of New York City, New York, Michael and Ethan Moran of Glen Allen, Virginia, and Nora and Muriel Duncan of Saint Joseph, Michigan; and step-great-grandchildren, Emma, Leala, and Sophie Gibson of Plymouth, Michigan. Alberta loved keeping in close touch with her nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other family members and friends.
