Delcy Reid Dozier, 78, passed away November 6, 2018. She was born in Newport News to the late James Elwood and Charlotte Haughton Reid, Sr. She was predeceased by her brother, James E. (Buster)Reid, Jr. Delcy worked for 30 years at B M Williams Primary School in Chesapeake where she loved her students and her coworkers. She was a member of Rosemont Christian Church for over 50 years.
On Dec 16, 1961, Delcy married her sweetheart, Edward Franklin Dozier, Jr , who survives her. Their love and commitment lasted 57 years, and serves as a model to their family for how meaningful a marriage can be. Delcy is also survived by their two children and their spouses, Edward F Dozier, III (Emily) and Shelley D Morrison (Sonny). She was blessed with six grandchildren, who knew and adored their “Mamaw”’; Kiera, Zach, Sam, Maddi, Alyssa and Kaci. Additionally, Delcy is survived by her sister, Wandalee Israel (Eddie) and a sister-in-law, Charon Reid. The family would like to thank the care givers and staff at Chesapeake Place who all took such good care of her over the last year.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake, Saturday November 10, 2018 at 1pm.
