Joyce Tatem Stern, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her late husband, Jerry, on May 17, 2018. Joyce was born in South Norfolk, Virginia to the late Isaac and Lillian Jones Tatem. Joyce worked with the Norfolk School System for over 15 years and was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cheryl Boomer (Bernard); sons, Mark Stern (Mary) and John Stern; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lauriee Lawrence and Tommy Tatem (Sue); and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 6-7:30 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
