Condolence: As a visiting Driving Instructor from Maryland, I had the pleasure of working with Matt several times down in Charleston. What I noticed most about him was the way he connected with the students. He will be deeply missed. May all of our comments and memories about Matt bring you comfort knowing that your son helped many people in this world. May he rest in peace and God bless you and the rest of your family.

Condolence From: John Landre
Condolence: I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Matt's untimely passing. I became acquainted with Matt at FLETC when he volunteered to help the National Treasury Employees Union, the union that represents FLETC instructors. As an attorney assigned to work with Matt on matters affecting his and others employment, I found him to be a dedicated and energetic union steward who wanted to change what he felt were injustices committed against his fellow employees. Matt was always willing to help in any way possible. Matt was a good man who only wanted to make life better for others. His legacy remains intact; as a law enforcement officer and an instructor of law enforcement trainees, Matt was dedicated to his craft and the safety of others. I will miss him.
