Obituary for Jeffrey James Butler

Jeffrey James Butler
Jeffrey James Butler, 52, passed away March 17, 2018. Jeff was the son of the late Eugene Butler and the late Joan Lilly Butler Miller, and was the grandson of the late Olin and Rachel Lilly. Jeff worked at Foss Recycling for a year and a half. Everyone said he was the best front-end loader they have ever seen. Jeff loved auto racing and cheered for Denny Hamlin and on race day he would always wear his #11 hat. Jeff was one of the biggest animal lovers in the world. He treated his dogs like they were his children, and nothing came between him and his dogs.
Jeff never had children but every child he met loved him and he loved them back especially Tyler and Bev’s two grandsons, Nathan and Jacob. Jeff loved the title of Grandpa to Nathan and Jacob! Jeff never met a stranger and would help anyone who needed it.

He is survived by his companion and best friend of 18 years, Beverly Raynor; step-father, Robert Miller; sister, Marcia Burnham; brother, Robin Butler; sisters Adele Ballard and Michele Miller; brother, Dana Miller; nieces, Sarah Pfaff, Amy Burnham, Lauren Horne, Kelley Horne; nephews, Corey Ballard, Tyler Miller, Thomas Horne; grandnieces, Charlotte Pfaff and Brooke Miller. Beverly’s sons, Jesse Raynor and Jason Raynor; two special grandsons who called him Grandpa, Jacob and Nathan Raynor.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake at 4 p.m. with Rev. Dave Libengood officiating. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to a charity of your choice or your local SPCA.
