LCDR Jerry L.  Titus
Jerry L. Titus, 86, a retired Navy Lieutenant Commander, passed away at his home in Chesapeake, VA on January 18, 2018. LCDR Titus was born in Wabash County, IN on January 18, 1932. He retired from the Navy in 1977 after 25 years of service, both as an enlisted man and an officer. Prior to moving to Florida in 1983, he worked as an administrative assistant in the Service Repair Department of Caterpillar Tractor Company in Norfolk.
Jerry and Martie moved back to Chesapeake in 2007 from Melbourne, FL. They were avid square dancers for 30 years and Jerry was President of the Dixie Squares Dance Club, of which they were members.

The last of ten children, Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Edgar and Hazel Marie Sipole Titus; two sisters; and seven brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Martha "Martie" Tait Titus of Chesapeake; daughters, Pamela McGinty (Louis) of Powhatan, VA, and Valerie Rockwell (William) of Chesapeake; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; two cousins; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake, on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11 am, with a reception to follow. LCDR Titus will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV.org).
