Obituary for Effie Thorne Hurst
Effie Thorne Hurst, went home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2017 at the age of 93. Effie was predeceased by her husband, Ray Jefferson Hurst. Effie was one of the founding members of Grace Baptist Temple, Chesapeake.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Raymond (Pat), Diana, Gary and Lynn (Jenny): her sister, Lehona Morris of Princeton, WV; her brother, Wayne Thorne (Bessie) of Mt. Vernon, Il; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake with Pastor Matt Nettesheim officiating, with a committal to follow at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the Grace Baptist Temple Building Fund 1101 Burns St. Chesapeake 23320.
