Obituary for Mollie Calvert

Mollie Calvert
Mollie Calvert, 63, went peacefully to be with the Lord on September 2, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family. Mollie was born in Lancaster, OH to the late Warren and Ruth Calvert and attended Bloom Carroll High School. She graduated from Capital University with a BSN and from Medical University of South Carolina with a MSN. Mollie had a full military career, honorably serving in the Navy Nurse Corps for 20 years. She served through Desert Storm and Desert Shield and at a variety of duty stations around the world, before retiring as a Commander with several awards and commendations. Mollie then fulfilled additional careers as a labor and delivery nurse at Chesapeake General Hospital as well as a school nurse at Ocean Lakes Elementary School before retiring again in 2016. She was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, served as a missionary, taught Vacation Bible School, and fulfilled many more roles too numerous to list.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Anna Ellis (Todd); son, Vladimir Calvert (Amberly); grandchildren, Leanna and Trey Ellis; sister, Lynn Fosnaugh; brother, Ronald Calvert; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 6- 7:30 p.m. A service to celebrate her life, including full military honors, will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 1832 Elbow Road, Chesapeake. A reception at the church will immediately follow the service. Please visit www.grahamfuneralhome.com to leave a note to the family.
