Karl Wayne Barnes, Sr., passed away June 8, 2017. Karl was born in Colerain, North Carolina to the late Luther C. and Nova Ruth Brown Barnes. Karl proudly served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He retired as a Department Head with Public Works Center N.O.B., and was an avid bird hunter and fisherman. Karl loved spending time with his wife at their beach house "Mullet Manor" in Cape Hatteras, NC.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Frances O. "Pudgie" Barnes; sons, Karl Wayne Barnes, Jr. (Susan) and Brian N. Barnes, Sr. (Julie); grandchildren, Kristen Rude, Meaghan and Lauren Barnes, and Brian N. Barnes, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Lily Rude; sisters, Patricia Williams and Mary Sue Brown (Albert); and brother, J. Larry Barnes (Brenda).

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 2 P.M. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Rd., Chesapeake with Dr. Ken Barnes officiating.
