Obituary for William Montell Jones Jr.

William Montell Jones, Jr., 72, passed away June 3, 2017. A native of Atlantic City, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy Lubonski Jones. Bill served in the United States Navy for 26 years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He was a longtime and active member of Kempsville Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Joanna E. Jones; daughter, Kymberly J. Mister (Jason); son, William Montell Jones, III (Danielle); grandchildren, Jacob Mister (Chelsea), Kaleigh Mister, Isabelle Jones, and Daniel Jones; sisters, Dorothy "Sis" Francis, Patricia Stike, and Cindy Zucker; brothers, Charles W. and John J. Jones; and a host of other family and friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Kempsville Baptist Church, 5204 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. He will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to Gideons International, Chesapeake West Camp, P.O. Box 1102, Chesapeake VA 23327.
