David O.  Briggs, Jr.
David O. Briggs, Jr., 66, went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2017 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Schenectady, NY to the late Yvonne Bradt Briggs and David Orson Briggs, Sr. David retired with Dominion Virginia Power; he enjoyed camping with his family at Lake Gaston, the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR. He found joy in helping others but most important was his love of his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 36 years, Nancy Pierce Briggs; sons, Ryan David Briggs, Tyler Edward Briggs (Sarah) and Colby Lee Briggs; his sister, Cheryl Briggs Claeys (Bob); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 5 p.m. at Great Bridge Baptist Church, 640 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake with Pastor Chuck Moseley officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception after the service. Memorial donations may be made to Union Mission Ministries "Restoring Hope", P O Box 3203, Norfolk, VA 23514-3203.
