Condolence: It's been almost one year and I still think of you so often. As I am preparing my oldest daughter to go off to college in a few months I have been thinking of all the fun times and great memories that we had in college. I will continue to cherish the memories that we have together and will continue to pray for Sofia, Andrew, Mrs. Porto and Smellins brothers and sisters. XOXO

Condolence: My heart is broken. I can only pray for MaryEllen's family during this really hard time. MaryEllen was one-of-a-kind. One of the strongest women I knew, full of heart and soul. In our almost 30 years of friendship, we have been through some really good times and also bad times. She will always be in my heart and soul and never forgotten. Rest in Peace, my friend, and I will see you on the other side someday! I will be praying for Sophia, Andrew, Mrs. Porto and MaryEllens brothers and sisters, a light has gone out in our lives, but MaryEllen wouldn't want us to be sad. I will smile when I think of all the good memories that we have had together over the years, but i know that I will also cry every time I think about how she was taken from us way too soon. I love you MaryEllen and miss you already. I will never forget you! XOXOXO

Condolence: I want to express my deepest, heartfelt sympathy to the Porto/Watkins family, especially Andrew, Sophia, Doris, and Carolyn. I am so sorry for the great loss of your wonderful mom, sister, and daughter. Mary Ellen was so special, one-of-a-kind. Fun, funny, caring, thoughtful, warm, smart, and beautiful inside and out. I loved seeing her and Andrew and Sophia when I came down with my family to vacation in Virginia Beach. We had so much fun! I'll miss doing that. And I'll miss Mary Ellen's laugh and sense of humor and her beautiful smile, and her very good and funny imitation of a Long Island Jew, in jest, of course! She was one-in-a-million. Gone too soon. But I'm so glad she's not suffering anymore. Rest In Peace, my dear friend.

Condolence: I knew MaryEllen for 21 years. We met at FES where we worked side by side for several years until I moved on to other positions. She continued to be my friend and mentor over the years. She was an excellent teacher and I learned so much from her. She deeply loved her whole family and was so proud of them all, especially her precious Andrew and Sophia. I will miss her friendship and advice, her big beautiful smile and her laugh. I pray that you all can find some peace and strength in this heartbreaking time through your happy memories.

Condolence: My prayers are with MaryEllen and you, her family. I worked with MaryEllen at Fairfield, but beyond that have many fond and fun memories of her "off the clock". A life taken too soon, for sure, but know that her spirit and fond memories are with so many.

Condolence: I'm very saddened by the passing of Mary Ellen! I knew her from High School, where she was always kind, friendly & full of laughter. She was too young to be taken from this world, but now she will be a guardian angel to all those who were close to her. May she R.I.P. & her memories live on forever!

Condolence: My prayers go out to Andrew, Sophia, and all her family. I last saw her about three years ago down at the beach, and she was still the same friendly Mary Ellen. Even though it had been a couple of years before when I saw her last, when she saw me, the first thing she said was that "How YOU doin?" with that exaggerated NY accent she liked to do when she was trying to be funny.... she always cracked me up with that. She was one of a kind.....

Condolence: I remember waking up in Marietta's bedroom downstairs in Nanuet. A pretty little little girl watching cartoons and sitting on the foot of the bed. Perhaps 1979. Maryellen was full of life. I was married to her older sister Doris then. In my mind she always remained my sister. I know Gloria and Caroline and Doris and Amy and Briana miss her so, as do I. I know she has been welcomed into heaven now.
