Professional Services

Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff and Overhead $2,995
Our basic service charge includes but is not limited to: consultation with family and others; twenty-four hour attention to details, three hundred sixty-five days a year; personal and professional supervision of arrangements and directions as desired; procurement, preparation and filing of authorizations, and consents; care and custody of the body; preparing, recording and filing vital statistical forms, such as death certificates; and general administration record-keeping; overhead expenses relative to our facility such as insurance, maintenance and utility expenses, and local personal property taxes and local inspection fees.

The fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select.  (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.)  Certain funeral services may be provided off-premises by other funeral service providers. 

Embalming and Sanitary Care
Embalming is not required by law.  Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing.  If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement, such as direct cremation or immediate burial, that does not require you to pay for it.

Virginia law does require either embalming or refrigeration 48 hours after the funeral home has taken custody of the remains and fees will apply.

Use of Facilities
  • Use of Facilities and Staff for Viewing $525, viewing is allowed everyday during normal business hours.  This fee includes a afternoon or evening formal visitation to receive family and friends.  If you would like a 2nd visitation outside of normal business hours a fee of $400 will apply.
  • Use of Facilities and Staff for Funeral Ceremony at the funeral home; Use of Equipment and Staff for Church Ceremony
  • Use of Equipment and Staff for graveside service $525
  • Use of facilities for Reception at the funeral home $400 if catering provided by Graham Funeral Home: includes table, chairs and cleaning; two hour limit.  Your funeral director will provide you with the food options and your selection will be added to the contract.
  • Use of facilities for Reception at the funeral home $525 includes set-up, tables, chairs and cleaning; two hour limit.  Graham Funeral Home does offer catering options.  Food is provided by outside vendors, your funeral director can share those options and cost. Use of reception center and staff for each additional day $400.
  • Refrigeration $495 (this fee is for 4 days beyond that the fee will be $65 per day up to a maximum of $945)
  • Use of preproom/cleaning for any organ or tissue donation by Medical Examiner or any other entity $250
Use of Motor Equipment
  • Transfer of remains to the funeral home $495 (local transfer beyond 25 mile radius the fee will be $2.50 per loaded mile)
  • Hearse $425
  • Flower Van $195
  • Five Passenger Family Car $125
  • Transfer of Remains in van to or from Airport/Crematory/Cemetery $295

SERVICE PACKAGES
Any funeral, memorial service, prayer service or reception that begin on or at 4 p.m. or held on weekends, regardless of location, a $400 overtime fee will apply for the services of the funeral director and staff.  Burial packages reflect a total of individual items most requested for a service.  Packages are designed to quickly add the most selected items by a family, you will only be charged for items selected.  If an item would be necessary our staff will explain the reason.

Traditional Service Package $6,620

Includes basic services of the funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs; transfer of remains to the funeral home; embalming, other preparation of the body; use of facilities and staff for viewing at the funeral home; use of facilities and staff for funeral ceremony at the funeral home or church; or graveside; hearse, Flower Van and Limousine.  The following merchandise is included: Memorial Register Package $165 and Memorial Video Book $250.  

You will select the casket and vault if needed or required by your cemetery.

                                                                                                                                          
Cremation Options........

Remember Cremation is simply another form of disposition. You are not limited from having a visitation/viewing or service, which may be held at the funeral home or your church. Things to remember, the Commonwealth of Virginia requires positive visual identification, the Virginia Medical Examiner fee, and a cremation container. You may also like an urn, a keepsake urn which will allow you to split the cremated remains to share with family or remembrance jewelry our funeral director and cremation specialist can assist you with those items.  

A Life Well Lived: Service and Gathering $6,560

This package includes basic services of the funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs; transfer of remains to the funeral home; embalming, other preparation of the body; use of facilities and staff for viewing at the funeral home; use of facilities and staff for funeral ceremony at the funeral home; crematory fee; and staff pianist. The following merchandise is also included: Memorial Register Package ($165) and Memorial Video Book ($250).

A Celebration of Life $5,485

This may be as simple as visiting with family and friends or a memorial service.  This may also include a time of food and fellowship that will honor the life of your loved one.
   
Basic Services of the Funeral Director and Staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; Transfer of remains to funeral home; embalming, dressing, cosmetology, minor restoration and casketing;  use of facilities and staff for viewing at the funeral home, viewing may be one evening up to 8 p.m., as well as for two days prior to services during the hours of   10 a.m. - 3 p.m., if space allows; use of facilities and staff for funeral ceremony at the funeral home; and crematory fee.

A Time of Remembrance (when no other services have been provided for your loved one by Graham Funeral Home) $2,995

This fee includes the basic services of funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; Use of Facilities and Staff for Memorial Service in our chapel or Visitation at the funeral home.  If a memorial register book package is purchased we will webast the memorial service for those unable to attend at no additional cost.  Register  package is $165 and will be added to the contract. 

This option is only available if your loved one was cremated by another provider or other services took place out of town.  Any funeral, memorial service, prayer service or reception that begin on or at 4 p.m. or held on weekends, regardless of location, a $400 overtime fee will apply for the services of the funeral director and staff                                                                                                                                                      


Our staff will not transfer any cremated remains to an urn or memorial jewelry unless purchased at Graham Funeral Home to limit our liability of damage to an item we can not replace.

Forwarding of Remains to Another Funeral Home $4,385

Our charge includes basic services of funeral directors and staff; a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs; transfer of remains to the funeral home; and embalming. It does not include dressing or casketing; use of funeral home facilities and equipment for any viewing or ceremonies; transfer to other funeral establishment or airport;merchandise such as a casket or airline shipping container a complete list is provided at our funeral establishment or any cash advance items.

Receiving of Remains from Another Funeral Home $2,995

Our charge includes: basic services of funeral directors and staff; a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs. It does not include any transfer fees, use of funeral home facilities and equipment; ceremonies; merchandise; or any cash advance items.

The above charges only offer basic information, a complete General Price list is available at the funeral home you may stop by anytime and one of our associates will be able to provide one for you, however only a licensed funeral director will be able to answer any questions you may have or discuss any of the charges provided in the General Price List.

The following items may be added Virginia Medical Examiner fee ($100) if needed; certified death certificates at $12.00 each, obituary, flowers and honorariums.
